Amrita-Shakeel to honeymoon in Hawaii, not in Mexico
Newlyweds Amrita and Shakeel Ladhak were to head to Mexico for their honeymoon on March 14.The couple had to cancel their plans following an all-out clash between the drug cartels there and the Mexican government.Mex cancelled!
Says a source close to Amrita, "Amu and Shakeel had planned a 15-day honeymoon. They were to leave on March 14, go to New York and head to Mexico from there.
However, due to escalating drug violence in the last week, their plans stand cancelled. Amrita has been to most European cities, so she wanted to either go to Mexico or Hawaii places she's never been to before."
Their families have been advising them against going to Mexico. "Finally yesterday, both Shakeel and Amu decided they would fly to New York and then go to Hawaii or some other place rather than risk their lives going to Mexico."
The source adds, "Shakeel and Amu chose Mexico for its rugged western beauty and spicy cuisine.
In fact they had even made arrangements to stay at a traditional Mexican ranch; where they could go horse riding and ranch trekking.
Shakeel had planned their stay in Mexico as a surprise for Amrita. Funnily enough, she just knew they were going there."
Adds the source, "Right now, Amu is recuperating from a severe bout of flu and stress brought about by her wedding last week.
Today she will shoot for the Pantaloon campaign and then leave on Friday for her honeymoon. She will return to Mumbai and resume dubbing for Sajid Nadiadwala's Kambakht Ishq and shooting for Season's Greetings.
Amrita has decided not to give up her acting career after her marriage and Shakeel's family has been very supportive about it.
Amu will sign good banners and films that offer her good roles. She will also continue with her endorsements and shows."

Drug cartel-fuelled violence has turned into war in Mexico, with thousands of deaths and the government battling well-armed gangs whose military-grade weapons come mostly from US dealers.
Two years ago, Mexico's President Felipe Calderon declared war on the country's powerful drug cartels the main suppliers of cocaine, marijuana, and methamphetamine to the United States.
In response to the government's assault, the drug cartels have been fighting back hard and the lives of the citizens of Mexico are at risk.

Bebo to perform at Amrita’s sangeet
Bollywood actress Amrita Arora’s getting married, you know, to Mumbai builder Shakeel Ladak, and guess who’s dancing at her sangeet on Thursday?
The bride-to-be’s best friend, Bollywood hottie Kareena Kapoor! Rehearsals for the big event are already on and Kareena, being Kareena, has also roped in Saif Ali Khan to shake a leg with her. Whether the Chotte Nawab, who is reticent in these matters, is a reluctant participant is not known. What is certain is that Kareena has him dancing to her tune at the sangeet!
Other star performers include Amrita’s sexy item girl sister Malaika Arora-Khan and husband Arbaaz, Malaika’s sister-in-law Alvira and her husband Atul Agnihotri, and Wardha Nadiadwala. Farah Khan, who else, will choreograph the numbers for the sangeet that have been selected from Amrita’s films but which are being kept a secret from her until the big night. However, Kareena will dance to a Golmaal song. And Arbaaz and make-up expert Mallika will dance to Kajra Re.
Meanwhile, the senior Aroras, Amrita and Malaika’s parents, are expected to lead the youngsters on the floor by putting on a show themselves to Disco 82! Most of Bollywood that is in Mumbai on Thursday is expected to attend the sangeet and then the reception the next day. And, to conclude the sangeet, all the guests will dance to It’s Rocking. The question being asked by friends attending the sangeet is what number will Salman bhai dance to!

Ashley Rebello Reveals Amrita's bridal entourage design
Amrita Arora will finally be getting married to the man of her dreams Shakeel Ladhak on March 4.
Designer talk
The man who has designed her church wedding, mehendi and nikaah outfits and the bridesmaids' outfits, Ashley Rebello, talks about them.
"I have designed Amrita's wedding gown, Malaika Arora (maid of honour), Kareena Kapoor and Mallika Bhat (bridesmaids), Arpita Khan, Alvira Agnihotri's daughter (flower girl), and Wardha Nadiadwala's outfits as well as Salman Khan's suit for the church wedding.
All the outfits took a month for me to design and were created with several inputs from Amrita. She was very clear about what she wanted simple, stylish, elegant. Amrita didn't want anything over the top.
I am also designing Amu's nikaah and mehendi outfits. We did a lot of research and took many pictures from the inter net before we finalised the designs.
We had trials of the outfits in malmal with Amrita before making the final outfits. Alvira is having a mehendi for Amu on March 5, where Amrita's wearing a gold brocade lehenga with borders of crepe in maroon red and ink blue.
Salman's church outfit will be a linen suite in light beige or off-white with a tuxedo style shirt in cream."
The wedding outfit
This vintage white gown with Swarovski crystals and rice pearls scattered all over is made of Chantilly and Emilio Ungaro lace.
It took 15 days for the design to be finalised.
It has a tube stretch satin lining, high neck, small sleeves, is fitted over the hips, with full back open, and flares out from below the knee into many pleats.
Amrita's jewellery will consist of a simple white gold-and-diamond set specially designed at a Bandra jeweller.
The nikaah outfit
Amrita's lehenga in emerald green is made of crepe and brocade with netted dupatta. The lehenga has gota work and dull beautiful old zardozi work all over.
The lehenga has an antique look.
Ashley has also deigned Shakeel's nikaah outfit which is a chikan Pathani suit in off white, with dull gold piping.
Outfits for the bridesmaids
Maid of honour Malaika and bridesmaids Kareena and Mallika will wear outfits in the same color caramel and peach.
While Malaika's outfit will be a toga-style georgette dress with pleated shades of caramel and peach, Kareena and Mallika will wear wrap-around off-shoulder dresses of the same colours with peach-colored dog roses at one shoulder.
Atul and Alvira Agnihotri's daughter, Alizeh, who is the flower girl, will wear a pretty pink sequinned long gown.
Wardha will wear a sunflower yellow dress with diamante work all over.
All will hold small posies of lilies.
