Anil Kapoor N John Abraham Together Upcoming Movie Shootout at Wadala

Sanjay Gupta is back to direction after a gap of almost 5 years (he last directed Sanjay Dutt-John Abraham starrer Zinda). He is now back with a bang with Shootout At Wadala, sequel to his own production- Shootout At Lokhandwala. The film is produced by Gupta's White Feather Films in association Ekta Kapoor's Balaji Motion Pictures. Like most of his films, Shootout At Wadala too is a multi-starrer and the filmmaker has already managed a coup of sorts by signing Anil Kapoor and John Abraham as the main leads.

John Abraham will be playing the role of dreaded gangster Manya Surve while Anil Kapoor will be essaying the role of ACP Isaque Bagwan, Mumbai's first encounter specialist. Besides Anil and John, there is also speculation that Vidya Balan has been approached for an important role and the actress is likely to give her nod.

Shootout At Wadala goes on floors early next year. Crime journalist S Hussain Zaidi has written the script for the film. The film has a top notch technical crew with the likes of Allan Amin, Resul Pookutty, Milap Zaveri and Sabu Cyril heading the action, sound, dialogues and art direction departments respectively.

Akshay, John to do pole dance

Bollywood two heartthrobs, John Abraham and Akshay Kumar are coming to make the girls fall weak at their knees as both are going to perform pole dance in David Dhawan’s son Rohit’s directional debut to be produced by Akshay Kumar’s Hariom Productions. The dance number will be a treat as both are expert dancers and can pull any form of dance with ease.

A source said, "Earlier, Akshay was supposed to be part of Rohit's film, Come On Pappu. However, the film did not work out. Meanwhile, there were talks of a romantic comedy, which Akshay had offered to star in as well as produce.

Rohit's untitled film is about Akshay and John, who lose their jobs because of the recession. As they are unable to find a decent job, they become pole dancers at the same strip club where they try to outdo each other. John and Akshay will undergo training for pole dancing in LA before the shoot begins. The film will be shot in some of the most exotic locales."

Akshay and John make a wonderful pair and they last starred in Priyadarshan’s ‘Garam Masala’ in 2005.

Ajmal Kasab wants to meet John Abraham

He took help from Bollywood before coming to Mumbai on a killing spree.

Since Mohammad Ajmal Amir Kasab, c/o Lashkar -e- Tayyeba, needed to learn at least a smattering of Hindi for the operation, his handlers showed him some Bolywood flicks – the easiest way to learn the enemy’s lingo.

That’s how Kasab, the lone gunman captured alive during the November 26 attacks in Mumbai, watched a John Abraham – Ebrahim, according to him – and Bipasha Basu starrer Goal during his training days.

And the gunman fell for John’s chiselled body and charm. He now wants to meet the matinee idol.

Since his arrest, he has been living in a high security capsule – known as the Anda cell at Arthur Road prison in Mumbai. He cannot get a newspaper, nor can he communicate with other inmates.

Kasab’s only bridge to the world outside is the men who guard him 24 hours, seven days. Sometimes, he tends to have a chat with them. But they have been warned against talking too much with the killer.

In one such conversation with a police official, Kasab expressed his desire to meet John Abraham.

“He talked about films and in particular John Ebrahim. Kasab likes John’s looks and well-chiseled body. And then went ahead to express his desire if he could meet him,” said a police official on condition of anonymity.

Fitness is an attitude: John Abraham

His butt-baring act in Dostana has made a sex symbol of John Abraham.

In town recently for a mass workout session organised by Diet Pepsi, called Go Play John + You, John blushed when a screaming and screeching crowd of youngsters demanded that he do away with his tee and show off his six packs.

But the Jism dude did nothing of the sort. Though, he did admit before going on the stage that he’s aware that he’s become almost an icon for those youngsters sweating it out at the gym. “I believe that fitness is an attitude, a way of life. I live and think healthy, and that shows. If youngsters learn to adapt to a ‘fitness’ way of life, then a great body will come naturally to them,” he says.

“And that is why,” adds John, “I associate myself with all things healthy. When I endorse a product, or sign films, like Goal, or the one that I’m shooting for currently, Hook Ya Crook, I’m conscious of my position in the minds of youngsters. I love to do films about sports.”

He is clearly full of josh for this mass workout programme. All through the evening, he kept questioning the organisers about this and that, including the calorie meter at the entrance of the venue. Thanks to John, this is the first time that Pepsi has taken on a direct to consumer initiative in the country. “This event is also associated with Conserve, an NGO. For every calorie burnt in this workout session, an equivalent of Re 1 will go to this NGO for recycling waste material. So, the youth will know more about caring for their environment too,” says John, who, among other things, is also clearly well-versed with other fitness-related problems that India faces. “Do you know that obesity levels are at an alarming high in India? Not among the 16-24 age group, but among 8-16-year-olds?” he says. “This needs to be researched,” he adds. Tum ho na, we tell him, to motivate youngsters to exercise. But John’s not joking. “There are two kinds of people even among those who want to be fit – those who work out cosmetically, because they want to look good, and those who exercise because they want to feel fit. And those who feel fit, obviously live fit, and therefore, looking good comes naturally. There are no shortcuts here,” says John.
Meanwhile, outside, the ‘We want John’ chant reaches a crescendo, and so, John gets ready to woo Delhiites with his sexy jism.

John Abraham to romance Abbas' wife

After director Sam Mandes' spectacular spousal success directing his wife Kate Winslet in the richly resonant Revolutionary Road in 1: 800 Love John will be romancing his director Abbas Tyrewala's wife.

And he is cool about it. "I know Abbas and Pakhi well. They make a beautiful couple.There's absolutely no awkwardness about doing a love story with the director's wife. Pakhi has co-written the script and knows her character and mine, in and out. She's an unknown face and extremely pretty. These are her biggest advantages. A beautiful woman whom the audience hasn't seen."

John is dead serious about this project. "I'm going to sit on script readings with Abbas, do workshops and rehearsals with Pakhi, just like Abbas did with the cast in Jaane Tu...Ya Jaane Na. I'm hungry for acting challenges. But most of the time my physicality comes on much too strongly on screen. People haven't really seen the performances I'm really proud of, like No Smoking, Kabul Express, Zinda and Aashayein. My physicality always takes precedence. But you know what? I'll change that. I've been in this industry only five years. People have started looking differently at me after Dostana. The body was talked about. But when they praise my performance it really feels good."

Where next? "Nagesh Kukunoor's Aashayein. I'm very proud of it.Yes, it has been delayed. There's a problem between Reliance and Percept that needs to be sorted. We're working on a solution. Aashayein is a beautiful film and we have to release it. Another film I'm really excited about is Kabir Khan's New York. I know I've got it right this time. Kabir says so. It's an awesome film. And I'm thankful to Aditya Chopra for showing faith in me at a time when I didn't have Dostana."

John describes himself as an off-roader. "I travel my own road. Like I'm doing Abbas Tyrewala's 1:800 Love. When he offered me that film he was directing Jaane Tu...Ya Jaane Na. The film's producer Madhu Mantena had Ghajini in the making and I was doing Dostana. By God's grace we all have a success on hand. So we're a proud team and very comfortable with. It's my intense love story and it's such a wonderful space to be in. Before Dostana I was only doing films that kept me within my comfort zone. Now I'm going to test myself as an actor as much as possible."

When questioned whether he would feel any awkwardness directing love scenes between his wife and John, Abbas Tyrewala said, "I hope not! If I can't remember they're acting then I lose the moral ground to ever a direct a girl in a love scene. Luckily, I've never written explicit love scenes in my film.The only explicit love-making scene I've conceived was for Vishal Bhardwaj's Maqbool. That apart I like my writing to be benign. It doesn't matter whether my wife is acting or not. I can't forget my parents will be watching my film."

Ms Dhoni in John’s film!

We all know that John and Dhoni are good friends and always there for each other. Since, John is doing Hook Yaa Crook which has a backdrop of Cricket there are lots of possibilities of his personal friend Dhoni featuring in it.

“Mahi is a personal friend and in this film we have used his name for more than a million times. I haven’t spoken to Dhoni as yet because cricket is just a backdrop of the film. It will be an honor to have someone like him in the film but nothing has been finalised", said John.M

Kat, John denied entry in NY Pub

While in New York, John Abraham and Katrina Kaif had the shock of their lives when the bouncers of a swanky nightclub in New York did not permit them to enter the club.

Reason: John and Katrina did not have any identification proof with them. To add to their embarrassment, the bouncers paid no heed to their words when they told them they were top film stars from India.

The story goes that John and Katrina accompanied by Kabir Khan, director of New York had gone to a night club when the trio had to go back and fetch for some identity proof to enter the club. By the time, they returned, the party had almost ended.

Our source informed, “A crew member wanted to celebrate his birthday. He invited everybody to a new nightclub in New York. After a hard day’s shoot, the entire gang left for the night club.”

The source further added, “While the crew members went ahead in one car, John, Katrina and Kabir followed in another. When they were stopped at the nightclub, they tried to reason with the bouncers that they were well known and respected people from India. John and Katrina told them that they were film stars from India but the bouncers only stared at them. The bouncers had no clue what John and Katrina were talking about. They called the crew members, who were inside but they too were of no help.”

The trio went to their hotel to collect their IDs, a 60-minute drive from the night club. By the time they returned to the club, the party excitement had died down. They stayed at the nightclub for some time, but sadly the night had already been spoilt for the top film stars from India.

John Abraham injured while shooting for Hook Ya Crook

John Abraham has hurt his leg again while shooting for David Dhawan's Hook Ya Crook on Tuesday at Chikelwadi in Tardeo.

At the Star Screen awards on Wednesday night, a source noted, "John was seen limping. He was seated in the front row, and was seen pulling up his right trouser leg and checking his foot several times. When people around him asked, he informed them that he hurt himself on the sets of Hook Ya Crook."

John's doctor had prescribed pain medication and rest for a couple of days. But John not only completed his shot but shot the next day again and attended both the Screen and Lions Club Awards the same night. David Dhawan confirms, "We were shooting an action scene where John had to slide down a 20-foot pole. He slipped and gashed his leg badly on the pole. But he behaved as if nothing had happened, completed the shot and only went home after completing his work for the day.

He refused to take any medication on the sets and said he would go to doctor later. John is a very nice guy and thorough professional. Now he's shooting with me for the next three months." John admits, "Yes the gash was bleeding a bit at the Screen awards but it's normal for us actors to have these small accidents while shooting. It's all part and parcel of a film shooting and we are not supposed to complain. David has been very cooperative and I wouldn't say or do anything to stall his shoot.

I am loving shooting for this comedy film. Though we are shooting actions sequences it's more fun than action." John, who plays a cricketer in Hook Ya Crook, had last hurt himself in a bike accident in 2008 where he had to be hospitalised for a week.
